Straight, easy and spirit-forward!

If you're looking for a cocktail that's refreshing, complex, and a touch exotic, you're in for a real treat! This delightful mix of Monkey 47 Dry Gin, yuzu sake, and Cocchi Americano combines bright citrus flavors, floral aromas, and herbal depth, making it the perfect choice for those who appreciate a spirit-forward cockttail. Straight from the bottles, without any special technique or fancy tools, this drink will be within everyone's reach. Let’s explore what makes each ingredient special and how to bring them together in this delicious drink.

Meet the Ingredients:

  • Monkey 47 Dry Gin: Hailing from Germany's Black Forest, Monkey 47 is a highly aromatic gin known for its intricate profile crafted from 47 botanicals. It features a beautifully balanced mix of citrus, floral, and earthy notes, all anchored by the crisp brightness of juniper. The unique addition of forest berries and herbs lends this gin a refreshing botanical edge, distinguishing it from others on the market.

  • Yuzu Sake: Yuzu sake is infused with the juice of yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit with a flavor reminiscent of a mix between lemon, grapefruit, and lime. This ingredient adds a distinct, almost floral acidity that enhances the gin’s botanicals, introducing a layer of brightness and aromatic complexity to the cocktail. Sake provides a smooth, slightly umami base that tempers the intensity of the yuzu, perfectly balancing the bold flavors of the gin.

  • Cocchi Americano: This Italian aperitif wine is infused with a blend of botanicals, such as gentian root and citrus peel, resulting in a subtle sweetness with underlying bitter notes. Often compared to Lillet Blanc, Cocchi Americano boasts a similar floral and fruity profile, but offers greater herbal depth, making it an ideal companion for the gin’s complexity and the yuzu’s citrus zing.
