Elevate your cocktails with the orange salt

In the world of bartending innovation, bartenders and home cooks alike continuously seek unique flavors to elevate their cocktails. One such ingredient gaining popularity is Orange Salt, a delightful combination of dehydrated orange peel and sea salt. This vibrant seasoning not only enhances the flavor of cocktails but also adds a touch of brightness to both sweet and savory dishes, all while promoting sustainable practices. Rim cocktail glasses with Orange Salt for a unique twist on classic drinks, infusing them with a refreshing citrus kick that perfectly complements ingredients like tequila or gin.

The Ingredients:

Dehydrated Orange Peel: The bright, zesty flavor of orange peel is a wonderful way to introduce citrus notes to various cocktails. Dehydration concentrates the flavors, allowing the natural oils and vibrant essence of the orange to shine through. This not only contributes to its flavor profile but also offers potential health benefits, such as antioxidants and vitamin C.

Sea Salt: Harvested from seawater through evaporation, sea salt brings a unique mineral-rich taste that differs from regular table salt. It provides the essential flavor that enhances other ingredients while promoting freshness in each bite. When combined with dehydrated orange peel, the sea salt takes on citrus notes, creating a well-rounded seasoning.

Crafting Orange Salt

Creating Orange Salt is a simple process that can be done at home or sourced from artisanal producers. To make it, dried orange peel is finely ground and mixed with high-quality sea salt. The ratio can vary depending on personal taste, but a common blend might involve a one-to-one ratio, allowing the bright citrus flavor to shine without overpowering the saltiness. Below you can find our version of this recipe!

Sustainable Practices

One of the most appealing aspects of Orange Salt is its sustainability. By utilizing dehydrated orange peel, a byproduct that often goes to waste, this combination contributes to reducing food waste in the culinary industry. Furthermore, sourcing high-quality sea salt from responsibly managed salt farms minimizes environmental impact, making Orange Salt a conscientious choice for eco-minded cooks.
